Malaysia Healthcare at the 2nd Annual Electronic Health Records Conference in Singapore from 22 - 25 November!

Malaysia Healthcare CEO, Mr. Suresh Ponnudurai spoke at the 2nd Annual Electronic Health Records conference in Singapore today. This is the second time that Malaysia Healthcare has been part of this event. This event brings together representatives from the government, public and private hospitals, healthcare technology providers and consultants to discuss the implementation of leading edge technology and to identify new partnerships and opportunities in Asia. With the global move towards EHRs as an effective tool to improve access to patient information, reducing costs and administrative loads, improving patient safety and healthcare delivery, governments in Asia are pushing for national initiatives towards implementation of EHR's.

Mr. Ponnudurai spoke on an important and emerging topic; 'Mobile and Portable Healthcare Deliveries and its Impact on Electronic Health Records and Patient Privacy'

His topic covered the following:

• Evaluating patient care deliveries, such as portable Personal Health Records (PHRs),
handheld devices and mobile workstations , and how these aid the physician and
improve the patient experience
• The use of mobile synchronous (voice) and asynchronous (SMS) telemedicine diagnostic
and decision support to remote clinicians
• Overcoming the challenges that face various online PHR systems
• Discussing the portability and continuity of care issues that face current PHR systems
• Privacy Issues

Malaysia Healthcare patients use a PHR called the iPHER (Individual Personal Health Electronic Record) to carry all their personal health information.
